Following the 7.0 earthquake that hit his home country, only 10 miles from Port-au-Prince, Wyclef Jean has issued a statement, rallying for others to help those affected in Haiti. The rapper left the following comments on his blog:
I cannot stress enough what a human disaster this is, and idle hands will only make this tragedy worse. The over 2 million people in Port-au-Prince tonight face catastrophe alone. We must act now...

Haiti is the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere. I understand that many of you have your own problems and financial needs, but at least most of us Americans have access to clean water, which isn't even the case for many people in Haiti.
